“Everybody worships. Whether it is a hero, possessions, success,
pleasure, a political cause, a carved idol or oneself, the way we
live and behave makes evident the things we love and give
ourselves to. To be converted to faith in Jesus Christ, is to
return to the worship of the true God, and dethrone all rivals to
His authority.” Graham Kendrick |

Speaking of Christ’s
entry into our earth and lives, author Madeleine L’Engle
describes His entry in poignant verse:
“Like every
newborn, He has come from far:
His eyes are
closed against the brilliance of the star:
So glorious is
He, He goes to His immoderate length
To show His love
for us, discarding power and strength.
Girded for war,
humility His mighty dress,
He moves into the
battle wholly weaponless.”
…
all for the love of us, for the yearning of relationship with us.
Gloria Gaither continues her narrative with this: “I once
heard some folks sitting behind me at a Homecoming concert
conjecturing that the evening of glorious music was a glimpse of
what heaven would be like. My guess is that even our highest
expectations are way low. But perhaps it is so that such an event
is a rehearsal -- the body of Christ in concert, singing of His
life, death and resurrection -- the power that changes lives. An
extraordinary act of worship!” |

“All
too often, we vote on forms of worship, rather than the substance.
