A Pattern for Prayer from John Wesley "Lord Jesus, if you will receive me into your house, if you will but own me as your servant, I will not stand upon terms; impose upon me what conditions you please, write down your own articles, command me what you will, put me to anything you see as good; let me come under your roof, let me be your servant... make me what you will, Lord and set me where you will. .... I put myself wholly into your hands: put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will; put me to doing, put me to suffering, let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you, exalted for you, or trodden under foot for you; let me be full, let me be empty, let me have all things, let me have nothing, I freely and heartily resign all to your pleasure and disposal. Amen."
One of our Native men that I worked with and encouraged to go forward in ministry, received his License to Preach from the General Council of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, MO. With his license was a letter from the General Secretary, the Rev. George O. Wood. Here is an excerpt of that letter which made us really stop and think. "In the powerful words of John Wesley, I covet this prayer as a pattern for your own praying -- an unswerving and obedient surrender to His call upon your life!" With those words, Rev. Wood introduced the above prayer. |

One pastor described Wesley's prayer as "gutsy"! Pray it only if you're sincere, because God will take you seriously! |

Don't
Quit When
things go wrong As
they sometimes will When
the road you're trudging Seems
all uphill, When
the funds are low And
the debts are high, And
you want to smile, But
you have to sigh. When
care is pressing you down a bit.. By
all means pray, and don't you quit. Success
is failure turned inside out. God's
hidden gift in the clouds of doubt You
never can tell how close you are, It
may be close when it seems afar So
trust in the Lord When
you're hardest hit… It's
when things go wrong, That
you must not quit!

Protect Our Troops Our Lord, we pray to You to protect our troops: our sons and daughters; our sisters and brothers; our fathers and mothers. Protect them and those of our allies as they fight together to protect our freedom and our safety; as they fight to end the terror that enshrouds our world. Keep them in Your loving arms and always near our hearts. This we pray, Amen. © Copyright www.dobhran.com Lord, keep them safe. |

January 2010 It has truly been awhile since we updated this area! Much has happened as we approach the Lord’s return for His blood-bought church. The world has turned a corner that cannot be re-traveled, yet there is hope in Jesus Christ of Nazareth for all who “will call upon His name.” Romans 10:8-13. John 6:35-40. It has come to mind that this is the last time for revival, and the need of salvation of our nation and people. Psalm 80:14-19. Let us not be blinded by false hopes, as our hope is not in man but in the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Rachael!! It is a scary time, but also a time to be sure that our account in heaven is clear with nothing to mar it. In Daniel 9:3-23 we read of his prayer to God on behalf of Israel, for her sins and his own sins to be forgiven! THANK GOD FOR THE CHRISTIAN FAITH!! There is forgiveness with the LORD! Then again, in 1 John 2:1-2. if we sin, there is forgiveness for us. Romans 6:1-6. we are told that we must not serve sin. Sin has been the down fall of our nation and every nation, and ours is in need of healing as never before. Do I mean everyone is serving sin? NO, but our national condition is due to man living as he pleases without counting the cost of his actions. So, will you join with many others and myself, as we pray for revival and healing of our nations sins and our own. Daniel gave us a very good example even though he was an awesome prophet of God, he humbled himself before his Maker and sought forgiveness for himself as well as Israel. This has been a very hard letter to write, as I myself am also a human being subject to sin, disobedience to God. I am not without my own faults, and am seeking Christ’s forgiveness for them. I love our nation, and just want to see it healed, made new and our peoples rejoicing, working again and really looking to God for their answers. We love every one of you who read this, in Jesus. Nancy and I have gone through a bad auto accident with our car totaled. We did come out of it with no broken bones, and have a less expensive car now. Nancy is still working for the State, but we pray it will not be much longer. Jim is facing another surgery on his spine, and hopefully also one to remove a large bone spur on L5. He has trouble walking and deals with a great deal of pain which at this time is keeping him from teaching Adult Sunday School and attending church. Our support at this time is very low, and even in retirement, we need the support and prayers of others. We depend on God to supply all our needs, and He works through other humans to do so. Giving to us will not make you rich in this world’s goods, but I do believe your reward in heaven will be increased. I never give to get, I give because of His love for us and for the needs of others. We were blessed one year to give 125% of my church salary, in tithes and offerings!! I was so thrilled that God would make that happen as I never believed it could! Your tithes belong in your church not in someone else’s pocket!! But helping others as we can pleases our Saviour. If the Spirit prompts you to do so, fine. If not, that is fine as well. You can send it to the address on the web page of the church we attend, though we never know who sent what, as that is their rule, and we are not able to give a tax receipt on our own, but Muldoon Community Assembly does. Remember to pray for America, 30 minutes a day, or fast with your doctor’s approval. America must have revival!!! Thank you for stopping in, come back often and drop us a line to let us know how you are doing as well. A prayer of confession on behalf of the USA “Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!” Prayer by Billy Graham, as aired by radio commentator Paul Harvey. |
Why
did Jesus fold the napkin?John 20:6-7 reads (in The King James Version) "Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, and the napkin, that was about His head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself." “Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put Him!' "Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side. "Was that important? Absolutely! "Is it really significant? Yes! "In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, 'I'm done'. "But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because… The folded napkin meant, 'I'm coming back!'
