"But I would not have you
to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are
asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no
hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again,
even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring
with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of the
Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming
of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For
the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of
God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then
we which are alive and remain shall be caught up
together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in
the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

Program # 3661 - Monday, October
15, 2007 "One of the Most Amazing Divine Healing Testimonies
Ever!"
Hello again, this is Dan Betzer.
Early this morning I got online and read again one of the
most marvelous stories of divine healing ever. As I read it,
my mind raced back to the late 40's. My folks and I drove
across Sioux City to a tiny church, Central Assembly of God,
at 9th and Court Streets. The meager sanctuary was
standing-room only. Everyone had come to hear a young woman
tell her amazing story of healing. Her name was Betty
Baxter, the same woman and story I read online this morning.
As a child, Betty's spinal cord looked like a train
wreck. Every bone, every muscle, every nerve was out of
place, twisted and deformed. Her head rested against her
knees. Her pain was beyond bearing and she would often lapse
into multi-day unconsciousness. Physicians told her folks
there was absolutely nothing that could be done for her but
to make her as comfortable as possible till she died. Betty
loved Jesus passionately and she prayed constantly. One day
she heard the Lord speak to her: "Betty, in ten days, at 3
o'clock in the afternoon, I am going to heal you." Her
mother received the same word.
Ten days later, with family and friends around her, Betty
reports literally seeing Jesus walk into her room, greet her
in love and compassion, and then place His hands upon her
body. In ten seconds, she was completely healed. She devoted
her life to lifting Jesus in testimony around the world. As
far as I know, she is still telling the story. My friend,
Christ remains as He always was, the Great Physician. If
your body is broken or failing today, ask the Lord to heal
you. Give Him your life and your praise.

"The Old Rugged Cross
Was Not a
Passport to Riches and Fame"
By Dan Betzer
Remember the hymn: "On a hill far away stood
an old rugged cross?" I wonder if some folks today think the lyric has
been changed to, "On a nearby beach stands a cross of pure gold / the
emblem of success and fame / and I love that new cross that requires of me
naught / but lip service and absolvement of blame."
The cross of our Lord was not some implement made
of precious stones. It was a torture piece, a silencer of men, a rack of
death. It took the toll of Jesus as well, He Who died there for our sins.
The price He paid for our redemption is staggering. Yet today in much of
the media I hear that Jesus came to bring you wealth, prestige, and fame. We hear that when you drink the blessed communion cup you are drinking
prosperity. But I ask you, would the Son of God yield His blessed body to
a Roman cross so that you and I could upgrade our autos or purchase
another suit or a boat? A thousand times, no! Nothing intrinsically wrong
with any of those things, as long as we do not equate them with the cross.
The late Keith Green said, "You cannot have more
exact opposites than the Bible's Christ-centered Gospel and our modern
crossless me-centered pseudo theology." You and I have been crucified with
Christ and brought to eternal life by spiritual resurrection, both acts
which are depicted in our water baptisms. From the moment of our
salvation, everything is for Jesus, not ourselves. We sing, "All to Jesus
I surrender / All to Him I freely give." I am reminded that Martin Luther
once opined, "Christians do not tell lies; they sing them."
Welcome

us, and begin to share our enthusiasm for working for Jesus Christ in
the far northern parts of the USA. If you're already among our

support you send and the prayers you pray, which enable us
to go and do what we do, here and everywhere!! We can't do it without ~
YOU!"

The Jerusalem Cross,
also known as the Crusaders Cross and the Five-Fold Cross, is comprised of
Greek and Tau crosses. Four Tau crosses meet in the center creating a Greek
cross. Four additional Greek crosses, one in each corner, make a total of five
crosses.
The symbolism of the five crosses has been explained in a variety of ways.
Here are a few: The five crosses represent the five wounds Jesus
received on the cross. The large center cross represents the wound in Jesus'
side while the four smaller crosses represent the wounds he received in his
hands and feet. The large center cross represents Jesus and the four smaller
crosses represent the four Gospel writers. The four smaller crosses represent
the four corners of the earth to which the gospel is being taken or for which
Jesus died. The five crosses represent the five nations active in the
Crusades: Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The five crosses
represent the five principalities of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. The
Jerusalem Cross was employed as an emblem by the Crusaders. Godfrey de
Bouillon, who became the first ruler of Jerusalem after it was captured from
the Moslems in 1099, wore the Jerusalem Cross as his symbol.
This plaque is on the wall next to the doorway of
the "Church
of Primacy of St. Peter" near the Sea of

down the net. Luke 5:5" and "The
deeds and miracles of Jesus are not actions of the
past. Jesus is still waiting for those who are
prepared to take risks at His Word because they
trust His power utterly."

eventually mosey off somewhere and become cowboys."

Alaska churches are seeking the Lord for a pastor: Anderson; Angoon; Klukwan; Ninilchik; Nome; Point Hope; Togiak; Unalakleet; and Wainwright. Please pray with us that the Lord will send willing laborers.
We all stand before the Lord the same. He will not judge us by what we wear, what we possess or whom we know. He looks at each of us the same. So, should we look at others with our tags, labels and gauges? Absolutely not!, would be the answer. As hard as it is to accept others without our biases, it is the right way. God loves and expects us to love without preference to color, race, nationality, class, or any other silly man-made measure. The man who is hungry is as important to God as the well-fed man. The children of my neighbor are as loved by God as my children.
It is hard to be
angry with someone who
gives you gifts. It is
uncommon for someone to
give of their resources
to invest in the life of
another. One should not
give a gift just to
curry a favor or change
a decision. We have
enough people who lobby
others for selfish
reasons. To genuinely
care about someone
enough to give them a
gift shows others the
focus of a person's
concerns and passions.
No
matter what you
and I do, we
will fall short
in our
presentation to
God of our
deeds. God is
not as concerned
with the score,
but that we
played the game.
There are a lot
of men who can
really score big
when it comes to
deeds. Others
among us are
backups, water
boys, and
janitors in the
work of the
Kingdom. In the
day when the
championship
rings are given
out by God, the
janitors and
water boys will
receive the same
reward as the
superstars. It
is not how many
points you
score, but that
you were a part
of the game that
matters most.
Sometimes the convenience of our
lives makes it easy to slip away
from regular devotions to God. The
young men in the book of Daniel
found themselves in a place where
they would have culturally been
excused from devotions to their God.
Yet they looked for a way to keep
their vows in a strange land. God
will honor our devotion to what is
right even when it is not convenient
for the moment or accepted by
others. We should not look for ways
to
blend into a culture or
bend with a community. If
our devotion to Christ is fervent we
will fight to be
who God wants us to be in every
situation.
Character
Read
Proverbs 16:27-30 As Christians it
is our job to lead and influence others to
Christ. We should not isolate ourselves from
the lost. But we do need to draw lines as to
how we will associate with others. Today’s
passage gives us descriptions of people with
character shortcomings. Those who plot evil
are called scoundrels. People who stir up
trouble and destroy friendships are called
perverse. Those who lead others down roads
to rob and hurt them are called violent.
People who wink and purse their lips are
accused of plotting perversity. The
Scripture points out these people and their
ways so we can be aware of not only what is
good but also what is evil. As someone once
said, "You cannot love a garden without
hating weeds." If you leave weeds in a
garden they will overrun and destroy it. The
same is true with people who have character
issues. Share Christ with those who need
Him, but be careful not to let those you
associate with kill your character.
Hunger
Read
Proverbs 16:26 Hunger is a great
motivator in life. Nothing makes a man
hustle more than when he has been working
hard and built up a voracious hunger. He
will push his way to the dinner table when
he knows a good meal is waiting. A
similar rule tends to apply with spiritual
hunger. The more a man works for the Lord
the greater his hunger for Him becomes. The
desire to learn and partake of the Lord is
an indication of a healthy spiritual drive.
If you have begun to lose your motivation
for church, Bible reading, prayer and
Christian fellowship you can turn it around.
Commit yourself to the work of the Master. I
promise it will not be long before your
spiritual appetite will be healthy and
voracious
"Lord Jesus, if
you will receive me into your house, if you will but own me as your
servant, I will not stand upon terms; impose upon me what
conditions you please, write down your own articles, command me what you
will, put me to anything you see as good; let me come under your roof,
let me be your servant... make me what you will, Lord and set me where
you will. .... I put myself wholly into your hands: put me to what you
will, rank me with whom you will; put me to doing, put me to suffering,
let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you, exalted for
you, or trodden under foot for you; let me be full, let me be
empty, let me have all things, let me have nothing, I freely and
heartily resign all to your pleasure and disposal. Amen."
One of our
Native men that I worked with and encouraged to go forward in ministry,
received his License to Preach from the General Council of the
Assemblies of God in Springfield, MO. With his license was a letter from
the General Secretary, the Rev. George O. Wood. Here is an excerpt
of that letter which made us really stop and think. "In the
powerful words of John Wesley, I covet this prayer as a pattern for your
own praying -- an unswerving and obedient surrender to His call upon
your life!" With those words, Rev. Wood introduced the above
prayer.
One pastor described Wesley's prayer
as "gutsy"! Pray it only if you're sincere, because God
will take you seriously!
This photo was taken 9/11/01 in Yuma,
Arizona. The unknown photographer had no idea there would be a
cross in the picture. Coincidence? No way.
ONE NATION
UNDER GOD!
Our Lord, we pray
to You to protect our troops: our sons and daughters; our sisters and
brothers; our fathers and mothers. Protect them and those of our
allies as they fight together to protect our freedom and our safety; as
they fight to end the terror that enshrouds our world. Keep them
in Your loving arms and always near our hearts. This we pray,
Amen.
Arrigaa Taikuu in Inupiat means "Thank you very much."

NEWS NOTES
JULY/AUGUST 2008
As I write
this late at night, just to bring you all up to date, it must be said of
the last two years that change, readjustment has not been without strong
challenges.
"Faith
is of no value until it is tested. Trust does not work unless you learn
to rest in it. Those who are strong in their faith have lived lives
riddled with struggles. Never pray, “Lord give me faith,” unless you are
ready for the attacks. Yet it is so good to know in times of trouble
that the substance of your faith is sturdy enough to stand on and rest
in.”Proverbs 24:10
The above
we copied from HonorBound, which we receive daily. The attacks, as
they are stated, do much to prove and strengthen our faith in Christ. I
have always held that the greater the trial, the greater the
blessings!!! That theology has really been tested, and in most cases
proved out to be truth.
I do not
believe that telling God how to heal us is an option left to us. We
pray, He answers in His own way, for His purposes and Glory!!
So now, my
own dilemma in this matter. Am awaiting spinal surgery on my own lower
back, yet I pray for divine healing and not man’s working. Having
complete faith in God to do the work that must needs be done, I leave it
in His completely capable hands.
Ministry
continues in the meantime. Mostly through prayer, some witnessing, Bible
reading and prayer for others. It seems that it is always best to
concentrate on the needs of others, our nation, this world we live in
and close friends, near or far. So our minds are occupied on reaching
out and serving His kingdom while we await for Him to determine what is
best!!
Am hoping
this shall be encouraging to you who face your times of testing, knowing
in the end you shall be victorious through the Lord Jesus Christ Who
giveth us the victory!!!
1 Corinthians 15:57
Nancy is
still working and doing Ministry with Missionettes. Best of all, she is
doing well.
As this
dispensation is drawing to a close, many things are going to happen but
we must not let them frighten us. Am thinking of Job who trusted in God
no matter what, Job 1:21
“…the
LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the
LORD.” (The
capitals indicate that it is Jehovah of Whom he speaks).
What ever
you face now, or will be facing, God already knows about it so do not
think that something strange has happened to you or your loved ones.
Jesus told us in
Matthew 24:4—44 that the love of many will wax cold,
V.12; but that we must endure till the end and we will be saved, V.13.
Romans 1:17
“…the just shall live by his faith.”
Keep
looking upward and listening for the shout!!!!
The Gospel Road leads to salvation through
Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Are you walking on that road? If you
are not, please consider the following scriptures.
John 14:5
Jesus said unto him, "I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me."
Titus 3:5
"Not by works of righteousness which we have
done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing
of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."
Acts 4:12
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Romans 3:23
"...all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23
"The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 10:9-10
"...if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe
in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is
with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
I John 1:9
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Dottie Rambo,
one marvelous Christian! At age four she
began singing, at age 8 she started writing
songs and at age 10 she accepted Christ as
her personal Saviour! How awesome! Her
father thought differently and strongly
disliked her actions toward Christ and threw
her out of the house. At 16 she met a young
man who would soon be her husband, and after
their wedding they started singing good 'ol
gospel music together with one other person.
It's been
said by some Christians that it wasn't
suppose to happen that way. That she should
have sung at Lincoln Center first, and after
a Grand performance, then passed away,
instead of a terrible bus crash in bad
weather.
I totally
disagree with that idea, it's very worldly
and carnal to say the least! Dottie Rambo
had suffered from severe painful Rheumatoid
Arthritis for over twenty years it is
believed. A most terrible affliction to
endure, yet her smile and voice did not
waiver from her calling and gift from God.
She stayed the course of her ministry no
matter what!! Heaven is for Warriors who
stay in the fight 'til they go home to be
with the One who loves them the most, and
the One they love the most as well.
Dottie Rambo
wrote and sang over 2,500 songs during her
lifetime, which have touched so many of us
with warmth and reassurance of our Savior's
love and care.
Dottie Rambo
was on her way to join other women at a
singing engagement when her life was lifted
from this earth! Many a pastor would love
to be in their pulpits preaching the Word,
and be taken Home! She was a warrior for
Jesus, as she was faithful to her calling!!
"It's not
just what we do that makes us what we are,
rather, it's our faithfulness to Jesus
Christ who purchased us with His own
blood."
Tony Dungy
“Heavenly Father, we come before
you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and
guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil
good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our
spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited
the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness
and called it welfare. We have killed our unborn and called it
choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We
have neglected to discipline our children and called it building
self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We
have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and
called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the
time-honored values of our forefathers and called it
enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today;
cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!”
Prayer by Billy Graham, as aired by radio
commentator Paul Harvey.
