Paul Patkotak was known as "The Apostle of the North."  His story is told in Alone in My Kayak by Agnes Rodli.  The book is out of print, but you may purchase a used copy from www.amazon.com Paul and his wife Ethel are buried side by side in Wainwright.  Ethel is mentioned on pages 146 and 147 in the book.
