Point Hope is an hour north of Kotzebue by plane; there are no roads between the two villages.  Jim is serving as the area Presbyter for Northwest Alaska, so he and Nancy visited the congregation.  They have no pastor now, but Church goes on as usual, led by the dedicated members.

Sing and praise the Lord...

...for He is so good!

The fellowship hall is upstairs.

Good fellowship requires food!

The people love to sing....

...no matter the age!

The church, with the new beams

Parsonage (notice the long shadow; we were far above the Arctic Circle, so the sun was low on the horizon).

The beams await summer, when construction of the new Sanctuary will begin. Notice the entrance door of parsonage (above).  It was dug out of the snow. Some building materials are under the snow to the left. It's very dry in winter so materials don't get wet.

"Thank you for the support you send and the prayers you pray, which enable us to go and do what we do, here and everywhere!! We can't do it without ~ YOU!"

Pastoral couples are needed in Alaska!
Please contact Ted Boatsman in Anchorage if you're interested.
