Our Personal Statement of Faith

"The Fellowship of the Unashamed"

We are part of the "Fellowship of the Unashamed."
The die has been cast. We have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made.  We are disciple's of Jesus Christ.
We won't look back, let up, slow down, back away,
or be still.  Our past is redeemed, our present makes sense,
and our future is secure.
We are finished and done with low living, sight walking,
small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams,
chintzy giving and dwarfed goals.
We no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity, position,
promotions, plaudits, or popularity.  We now live by
presence, lean by faith, love by patience,
lift by prayer, and labor by power.  Our pace is set, our gait is fast,
our goal is Heaven, our road is narrow, our way is rough,
our companions few, our Guide reliable, our mission clear.
We cannot be bought, compromised, deterred, lured away,
turned back, diluted, or delayed.
We will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the
presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy,
Ponder at the pool of popularity, meander in the maze
of mediocrity. We are disciple's of Jesus Christ.
We must go until Heaven returns,
give until we drop, preach until all know, and work until He comes.
And when He comes to get His own, He will have no problems recognizing us.
Our colors will be clear!
"The Fellowship of the Unashamed" was written by Dr. Bob Moorehead, Words Aptly Spoken, ©1980.

"I am not ashamed of the gospel...."  Romans 1:16

When Bill  Borden, son of  the wealthy Bordens,  went out to China as a missionary, many of his friends thought he was foolish to "waste his life,"  as  they put it, trying to convert a few heathens to Christianity.  But Bill loved Christ and he loved men!

He hadn't been out there very long before he contracted an oriental disease and died.  At his bedside they found a note that he had written while he was dying.  It read, "No reserve,  no retreat, and no regrets."   Bill had found more happiness in his few years of sacrificial service than most people find in a lifetime.

Prayer:  "Help me not to count the cost of serving You, Lord Jesus, but let me completely yield to your leading."  Amen.

"If we are living now by the Holy Spirit's power, let us follow the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our lives."  Read Galatians 5:25

This is a true story taken from DAY BY DAY by Billy Graham.
